OGM Technical Institute Pty Ltd was established in 2012 to provide internationally recognized workforce training and job placements to meet global industry demand for tradecraft skills. OGM aims to develop and supply, “work ready” trainees within Saudi Arabia and Gulf States, as well as from South Asia who meet immediate high demand industry requirements.
Under the vision and guidance of Dr Ravi Pillai, OGM was established in Australia in April 2012, in India in 2015, in Bahrain in 2020, and we are excited to have established OGM as a Saudi Arabia Government certified training partner in 2026. Significant work was undertaken to introduce, establish and develop pathways for training with requirements matched to meet the workforce shortfalls of construction and energy industries.

Prior to joining the RP Group of companies in 2012 as CEO of OGM, Peter held senior positions as an Australian Diplomat for fifteen years including as Minister Commercial in the Australian High Commission in New Delhi India covering trade and investment strategy across South Asia, as Australian Consul General Dubai and Senior Trade Commissioner Middle East and North Africa, and as Minister Commercial in the Australian Embassy in Seoul Korea, as well as multiple senior trade and investment roles in Japan.
Peter is passionate about global linkages of people and through his extensive business expertise has focused this into the area of skills and people development in both developed and developing markets.
Peter sees his role as identifying and nurturing opportunities amongst different countries, cultures and languages through business to deliver win-win outcomes for workers as well as for industry.
Peter holds a Masters of International Trade & Diplomacy (High Distinction) from Monash University and is a fluent Japanese language speaker.
